A guy I know from various message boards, Michael Raichelson, lost his apartment and possessions to a fire last week. You can read about it here. Luckily, him, his girlfriend, and their rabbit escaped without injury.
After going through tough times a couple of years ago and feeling the love of friends, family, and total strangers, I feel the need to help out where I can (even if it isn’t much) and continue the good karma circle. If you are feeling the helping vibe today, his PayPal address is i.am@michaelraichelson.com.

While we’re on topic, get renter’s insurance! You never know when you’ll need it.
they should post a list of things they need that people can send. like a “stuff” drive instead of a canned food drive.
I’m getting renter’s insurance as well – not because Ani Moller told me to, but because the other night, at about 3 o’clock in the A.M., a wicked, scraggly looking guy was looking in my window.
-grrr
renter’s insurance. yes! it’s cheap and deceptively easy to get and it would have saved us a lot of headaches. needless to say, we do have it now.
thanks ani (and everyone) for the well-wishes.
Renter’s insurance is the best ever. Say you have a cd rack and most of them get stolen. You say, “this rack was almost full.” Instead of your old crappy Aerosmith and mighty mighty bosstones or whatever embarrassing tripe you have in your collection that was heisted by some clot-pole who won’t get shit for the cd’s because they’re all scratched anyway, you get to buy ALL NEW CD’s.
