I hate hairdressers. I always have. I feel and have felt your pain! I've cried many many tears! The weird part is I became one. Now that I'm on the "other side of the chair" I look at things a lot differently. I understand how incredibly difficult, stressful, and frustrating it is trying to read everyone's mind and make them happy. Now I hate clients. I hate hairdressers and clients. You think you're frustrated? I'm frustrated!!!

I also found this after a disaster hair cut. I had long, wavy, healthy hair with a few lighter very natural highlights, and after asking her to cut a couple of inches off, give me long layers, and give me some highlights like the ones i allready had, i felt pretty calm that she would be able to manage it. I mean, how hard can it be? Well, pretty damn fucking hard obviously, because i ended up with 6 inches off (!!!!!!), short terrible choppy layers and some incredibly uneven and unnatural highlights with..wait for it! A green hue to them. Fucking A! I have been crying for hours. It is gong to take me forever to get my old hair back! Damnit!!! I am never trusting my hair with anyone

Ever noticed how famous people aka "celebrities, super models, musicians" etc. always have perfect hair? Evidently, there are some good hair stylists out there and they all work for the "stars", while us "proletariat" get the leftovers. I really do think some of them do it on purpose, judging by some of the absoluteley VILE haircuts I've been given that were nothing like what I asked for.... I've come out looking like Prince Valient, Billy Ray Cyrus (mullet) and David Cassidy (overdone shag) when my hair normally looks like Elle MacPherson's, long, fine, straight and healthy. Right now I've got a razored layered cut that has basically ruined the overall appearance of my long hair, layers all the way up to my ears on the sides and long wispy pieces down to the middle of my back but overall it is VERY thin and pitiful looking, no movement and I can't do much of anything with it but wait for the layers to grow out on the sides. I look awful with short hair so I just use clip on extensions when I go out so that I don't look like a total piece of crap. To make matters worse, I colored it myself with some "John Frieda" chocolate brown foam hair color that turned rusty brown (read red) and I only look good with cool tones. Red looks awful. My hair also started falling out after this color so I'm afraid to color it again. So, I went from having long, all one length, healthy light brown with blond highlighted "Elle MacPherson" hair to a butchered, rust brown, thin and pitiful layered mess that looks like I stuck my hair in a lawn mower blade and the thinness of my hair makes me look 10 years older. I trimmed my own hair for 3 years before I went and got these awful layers and when this current disaster passes finally, I will go back to trimming my own hair again and let my natural color grow out (light ash brown). The Bible says that a woman's hair is her crown of glory. Perhaps we all should have just kept what God gave us instead of trying to "improve" on it. Looks like all the good stylists are reserved for the "elite" of the world.

i don't trust hairdressers or stylists whatever they call themselves, none of them have a clue how to cut long hair and they think 1" is 5" as i found out too late, never been back to one since 6 years ago.i get my very trustworthy hubby to trim the splits now and that's all he does no more than 1" of hair and it doesn't take forever to grow it back.

10 years ago I could walk into any salon and go "Trim the layers, a couple of lighter foils in"and come out happy as. For some reason the global trend in hairdressing has declined or my luck just ran out.
Since i have been in Western Australia, I have probably only had one decent hair do. I had a fabbo cut done yesterday and 6/8ths of the colour was done magnificiently....then the front's gone a vile shade of copper...yes, copper. Not a good look on a non warm coloured head. What happened? Dunno. She said to come back in a week if I still don't like it because she's aware it didn't turn out right, despite extra toning. I'll hold her too that because the cut she gave me? Magnificent. Body and bounce for the first time in years. I'll give her the opportunity to sort the front colour out.

I resent paying a heap of money for something that isn't right. It seems like we're entering a world of "nearly"as being good enough. I know it's just bloody hair but when I'm coughing up over $130 for the pleasure-I want what I want. Not what they think looks good, or think is 'near enough'. I'm getting old and crabby and am getting tempted to refuse to pay. They'll get it then!
