So. Here I am back in New Zealand. I’ve been here for about five weeks now. Feels like ages. We got a great apartment – I might have said this before, I don’t remember. But it’s close to town, has a great balcony with a great view (although not as great as my friend’s house overlooking two sides of the Wellington Harbour which is also a fucking mansion because he got rich off the internet), two bedrooms upstairs, a decent living area, nicely laid out kitchen, oh, and it also has a garage, and we bought a projector instead of a television and fuck me it rules so hard watching Lost at six feet wide. Anyway, so we also got a car, but now that I type this I’m sure I’ve said this before.
I haven’t got a job. I’ve registered at a few employment agencies and am now temping at IBM for the next week. I am drawing installers’ diagrams of rack setups and maps of comms. rooms into Visio. It’s actually not that bad though, because I haven’t used Visio but it’s not that dissimilar to any other Microsoft program. I like playing with new software.
I had an interview yesterday for a position I actually rather wanted but I found out today they gave it another person. Bummed.
Right now it is after midnight on Friday night and I am sitting on my balcony, smoking a cigarette and drinking green tea, and watching the yellow moon sink below the Kelburn hill. I’m listening to the sound of the wind and traffic and annoying boy racers. Pea is playing Counter-Strike (XP on the Mac Mini media centre, yee-op!) and Goblin is sleeping.
Wow, I really had to stop and figure out how to spell “centre”. America has ruined my brain. It is devoid of knowledge. Aiieee!
